The title 'Dark Sky Leaning' is inspired by a Hone Tuwhare poem. In A Fall of Rain at Mitimiti, Tuwhare describes the 'Black Sky Leaning', a phrase which evokes the looming, almost ominous, dark trees of winter in the bush of our wildest places.
