Clevedon Artist. A force of nature.

Posted by Fiona Cable on

With it’s barn door vista of lichen covered plum trees and foraging sheep, Katie Blundell Artist’s Clevedon studio is a perfect hideaway for creative inspiration. From the farm yard to the kitchen fruit bowl and still life of bathroom utensils, Blundell dispenses her treatment of witty humour and double meanings. She draws on deeply personal experiences that viewers can relate to but not always verbalise or admit.

Blundell has a Masters of Fine Art from Elam and 20 years of Art making experience to draw from. Years as a Senior Teacher of Art at Diocesan School, provided a platform for her natural tendency towards experimentation; pushing boundaries of her knowledge, skill and equipment – resulting in new and revolutionary ideas.

Expect to be surprised and delighted when you attend her upcoming exhibition, Urban Jungle, 5 – 21 July 2018 at Railway Street Studios and Gallery.

Blundell welcomes visitors to her studio. Mention ‘Urban Jungle’ and enjoy her infectious enthusiasm for all things creative. She encourages everyone to get involved and reminds us to take a second look at life.

Double up your visit by taking in the Clevedon Village Farmers Market. Every Sunday 8.30 – 1pm. I can also recommend the local café, The Corner Kitchen and Bar. My choice was a nutrient rich salad of pumpkin falafels with delicious trimmings and great coffee.
