Two creative Auckland photographers, Judy Stokes and Gail Stent, explore the realms of Above and Below. Water plays an influential role in both of their lives. They, as photographers, are now continuously drawn to the powerful force inherent in this natural element.
Their photographs are not about capturing reality, but rather about encouraging the viewer to engage in an emotional awareness felt through the moment of time caught in the image. Their creative and artistic photographic styles invite a “seeing the feeling” experience.
Following their success in last year’s Auckland Festival of Photography, Above and Below extends their practice to the next level. This promises to be an appealing contemporary exhibition of fine art photography. Photographs will be available for purchase at the exhibition.
