This work was inspired by a bed of irises in a friend’s garden. It seems so strange yet hopeful that such perfect and beautiful things should emerge from the earth while so much of the world is beset with despair and tragedy.
The title of the work comes from Alice Oswald’s poem “A Short Story of Falling “, a tribute to water and the circular renewal of life.
